Vinous: 92 Points for Torre Raone‘s Cerasuolo

Cerasuolo d’ Abruzzo DOC 2022

Grapes: 100% Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. Vinification is “in white” after a short cryomaceration in the press (6 hours) of the free-run must.
Nose: intense, moderately persistent, fine and delicate, floral notes that blend with ample aromas of fresh fruit such as cherry, strawberry and mango.
Taste: dry, quite warm, quite fresh and with a good structure with hints of cherry, strawberry, yellow plum, mango and a marked acidity reminiscent of pomegranate; savory with long persistence, balanced and harmonious.

“The 2022 Cerasuolo d’ Abruzzo seduces with a blend of cherries and spice complemented by mint and lavender. This is deeply textural yet energetic throughout, with zesty acidity guiding its rose-tinged strawberry fruits and sour citrus nuances that add lovely contrast. It finishes with a mineral twang full of youthful tension, ending with a liquorice and tart cranberry concentration. Lovely.”

Well done!

This wine is closely connected to the greatest wine of Valpolicella: Amarone. After pressing the dried grapes from which Amarone is made, Valpolicella wine is passed over the still warm marc of Amarone.

The jewel of Zenato’s production, this wine is made from a selection of top grapes from Valpolicella Classica grown in Sant’Ambrogio township (Corvina, Rondinella, Oseleta, and Croatina).

Made from Corvina Veronese, this single-vineyard designate wine is deeply connected to the land where it is grown.

Produced only in top vintages, this graceful wine is made from a selection of Corvina and Rondinella grapes grown in the oldest vineyards in the township of Sant’Ambrogio in Valpolicella’s “classic” zone.
