Gracciano della Seta: Tuscany on the label

Logo Gracciano della Seta

From 22 April 2020, with the publication in the Official Gazette, the disciplinary of Montepulciano wines has been modified with the indication of “Tuscany”, obligatorily, on the label. This is a step forward for the recognisability of our wine in the world.

Bracciano nobile

The idea was launched to distinguish us from Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, then we became aware that the Tuscan brand can give great added value to our wine on the market. We all know that in the world Tuscany is easy to place from a geographical point of view, we expect that putting Tuscany on the label will promote communication and trade of our product.

The mandatory wording concerns not only the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Docg, but also the Rosso and the Vin Santo di Montepulciano Doc. Specifically, the change concerns article 7 of the product specification of the three denominations and consists in the introduction of the obligatory to insert the broader geographical term, “Tuscany”, on the label, in addition to the denomination.

We will use the new labels from the 2020 vintage in Rosso di Montepulciano and from the 2018 vintage in Nobile di Montepulciano.
