Masseria Cuturi’s Monte Diavoli Primitivo di Manduria
Honored with the Corona Award from Vinibuoni d’Italia
Mysterious and fascinating:
In the heart of a vast, flat landscape, surrounded by the characteristic Mediterranean macchia, rises an isolated rock formation: Monte dei Diavoli. This mysterious and fascinating place was once the sacred ground where the Messapii kept the fire burning for their fertility rites. The wine, Monte Diavoli Primitivo di Manduria DOC, carries the legacy of this historical and spiritual place within it.
The Monte Diavoli Primitivo di Manduria DOC 2021 received a Corona from Vinibuoni d’Italia, the renowned Italian wine guide published by the Touring Club Italiano. The ‘Corona’ is exclusively awarded to wines that excel in quality, authenticity, and expression of terroir, made from Italy’s indigenous grapes.

Kissed by sunshine:
Long considered the cradle of Primitivo, this estate is blessed with a formidable array of natural gifts. The foundation of its exceptional quality begins in the earth itself, with an extraordinary soil composition of iron-rich deposits layered over a cretaceous limestone base.
Above, the vines are kissed by constant, brilliant sunshine. This generous warmth is perfectly balanced by the vital influence of the nearby sea, which provides the cooling breezes that sweep across the vineyard. This harmonious interplay of rich soil, relentless sun, and refreshing sea air establishes the perfect conditions, allowing for the creation of truly distinctive and exceptionally fine wines.
The family behind the label:
As a family-owned, single-estate winery, Masseria Cuturi is driven by a deep care for their winemaking and for the environment.
They show their respect for the land by farming organically, with the goal of getting the very best from their grapes. This helps them create wines with clear and pleasant aromas.
Around the world, they work with select partners who value this way of thinking.
Partners who see the family behind the label and are passionate about sharing their hard work and dreams with others through a bottle of wine.
The story behind the logo:
The year 1881 prominently featured in the Masseria Cuturi logo, honors a pivotal moment: the marriage of owner Don Tommaso Schiavoni Tafuri to Countess Sabini of Altamura, marking the genesis of their winemaking heritage.
As her dowry, the Countess brought Primitivo cuttings that were planted in Cuturi’s rich soil. This single act is credited as the first introduction of the grape to the now globally acclaimed Manduria region.
