We have recently replaced these three products:
SULPHUR
Organic viticulture uses natural products to fight vine disease. Sulphur is one of these. However, very little of the sulphur found on the market is now extracted directly from mines. Most of the sulphur is made from the desulphurisation process of fossil fuels. So basically sulphur is a refinery product. Consequently, as of 2021, we have been using a new sulphur product of vegetable origin deriving from the fermentation of agricultural vegetable products (Biogas).
– THE STRETCH FILM FOR PALLET PACKAGING
Normal stretch films are made of plastic, so we have decided to utilise a new stretch film based on fossil-free green polyethylene derived from sugar cane with a very low carbon footprint.
– THE WIRE TO BIND THE VINES
Pvc wire was replaced with a biodegradable wire. After the harvest, the biodegradable wire falls naturally to the ground and dissolves into the soil during the cycle of a season. This solution solves the problem of dispersion of plastic in the ground.
