The term “Rive” indicates, in local dialect, the slopes of the steep hills that characterize the area. This typology highlights the different expressions of Conegliano Valdobbiadene, it is obtained from the steepest and most suitable vineyards with grapes coming from a single municipality or fraction of it, to enhance the characteristics that the territory gives to the wine.

There are 43 banks in the denomination, and each one expresses a different peculiarity of soil, exposure and microclimate. In Rive the production is 13 t per hectare, the grapes are harvested exclusively by hand and the vintage is indicated on the label.

The grapes come from the vineyard in Colbertaldo, one of the hamlets of Vidor.
