Vino Nobile di Montepulciano

Decanter awards Vino Nobile di Montepulciano from Gracciano

The Vino Nobile di Montepulciano 2018 and the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva 2017 from Tenuta di Gracciano della Seta  both received 91 points from Decanter.

Organic Viticulture:

The Estate’s business philosophy has always been based on the respect of tradition and of the environment. For this reason no chemical fertilizers or pesticides are used. Every effort is made so that the wines fully reflect the characteristics of the terroir and that all technological procedures preserve the qualities of the raw material. Since 2015, The Gracciano Estate practices an organic viticulture.

The limited quantity of Riserva di Vino Nobile di Gracciano della Seta is produced by harvesting the best grapes only during the best vintage years.

Elegant and traditional:

Gracciano’s objective is to produce wine that deeply respects all the characteristics of both the territory and the Prugnolo gentile variety. They seek to create an elegant and traditional wine, placing particular emphasis on the selection of the wooden casks used for ageing alongside a small number of 5 hl tonneaux. The result is a wine with a long history and tradition passed down from generation to generation, a well-defined style and a generous terroir.

The Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is one of the oldest wines made in Tuscany and can be traced back to the 16th century.

Organic:

Starting from the 2018 harvest, all the Gracciano wines will be certified as organic.

In the last few years the average production has been around 100.000 bottles of the following wines:

– Vino Nobile di Montepulciano
– Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva
– Rosso di Montepulciano DOC
– Rosato di Toscana

The Estate’s wines can be considered traditional, they are suitable for ageing but also pleasant to drink when they are young.
