Monzio Compagnoni’s Rosato’s new vintage

The new vintage of Monzio Compagnoni’s Franciacorta Millesimato Brut Rose’ 2021 has arrived and is available from today, now presented dark bottle.

Franciacorta Rosé Brut Millesimato is a wine of character and body, with an unmistakable color and persistent perlage. A gastronomic wine that lends itself to multiple combinations thanks to its many facets and its fresh balance.

Color: straw yellow with a slight hint of green, abundant foam and extremely fine perlage.

Bouquet: There are clear, sustained floral hints alongside the traditional bread crust and more delicate hints of peach and apple, and it has remarkable freshness and minerality.

Taste: Initial sensation of freshness with notes of grapefruit and tangerine and a final toasty note.

Blend: 80% Pinot Nero, 20% Chardonnay
Type of flavour: Brut (up to 5 gr./ lt.
Method: Champenoise
Alcohol content: 12.5°

The label, inspired to the lake in the Grillo vineyards of Masseria del Feudo, poetically describes the beauty and atmosphere around the lake:

“The lake acts as an amplifier for nature’s sounds while the reflection of the water represents purity and freshness. Moon’s reflection on the lake, adds gracefulness and elegance.”

Franciacorta Pas dosè Alla Moda

Type of taste: Brut nature, no sugar added

Blend: 65% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay
Permanence on the lees: 21 to 24 months

Color: clear gold with an hint of copper
Bouquet: wide and wrapping with hints of yellow peach, grimes golden, red cherry, rasperry and linden
Taste: fresh with citrus flavour and persistent delicate acidity, sustained notes of stone fruits, red fruits and an hint of cashew.
The finish is long, savory and slightly bitter

From a particular selection of the best Glera grapes coming from one of our vineyards, a sparkling wine with a marked elegance. Intense fruity aromas and dry taste. Ideal as an aperitif, perfect with shellfish.

It comes from Glera grapes from the high hill vines in the municipalities of Colbertaldo, a hamlet of Vidor.

Winemaking: Without skins in stainless steel
Sparkling production: Method Martinotti
Second fermentation: with selected indigenous yeasts at a controlled temperature for 90 days
Sugar residue: 4,5 gr/l
Alc.: 11 % Vol

CASALFARNETO

Marche Bianco IGT Metodo Ancestrale Primo

100% Verdicchio (early harvest, for higher acidity)
Fermentation in steel tanks after a soft pressing.

When fermentation is nearing completion, the wine is bottled using crown caps.
The small amount of residual sugar, combined with still-active yeasts, continues the fermentation, leading to the development of bubbles and stopping at approximately 2.3 atmospheres.
The wine is almost completely dry. No disgorging (dégorgement) is carried out on the wine, resulting in a cloudy appearance and sediment of lees at the bottom.

Congratulations to the Azienda Agricola Monzio Compagnoni with these recent outstanding results.

Wine Enthusiast rated their Franciacorta Brut Nature Riserva 2012 and Franciacorta Brut Alla Moda with respectively 94 and 92 Points.

Franciacorta Brut Nature Riserva 2012

Grapes: 100% Pinot Noir
Colour: Dark yellow, fine perlage.
Nose: Green walnut husk, biscuit and laurel.
Taste: Rich, complex, acidic and dry. Final notes of vanilla.
Food pairings: ideal with elaborate dishes, fish and red meat.

Franciacorta Brut Alla Moda

Grapes: 90% Chardonnay, 10% Pinot Noir
Colour: straw yellow with a slight hint of green, abundant foam and extremely fine perlage.
Nose: there are clear, sustained floral hints alongside the traditional bread crust and more delicate hints of peach and apple, and it has remarkable freshness and minerality.
Taste: grapefruit and tangerine and a final toasty note.

Located in Adro among the splendid hills of Franciacorta, in a 15th century farmhouse, Monzio Compagnoni Azienda Agricola is today considered one of the most dynamic wineries operating in the Franciacorta and Bergamasco wine sector.

Azienda Agricola Monzio Compagnoni, producer in the beautiful Franciacorta area, takes part of the Festival Franciacorta.

During the weekend of 11^th and 12^th of September and 18^th and 19^th of September you are welcome to visit the Cantina, have a tasting of 3 great wines, the Cuvée alla Moda, the Satèn 2016 and the Rosé 2015, of course in combination with local cheeses and sausages and accompanied by music.

A nice visit, with bubbles, passion and music, don’t miss this opportunity !

Profumi e Emozioni: Harvest 2020

In general we can talk about a good quality and reasonable quantities.
As usual the truths lies in the details. There is difference from region to region regarding quantity. Quality is in most areas good, but not extraordinary.

Franciacorta and areas in the Valpolicella Classico area have less quantity due to extreme weather.
Maremma and Puglia have lost crop due to frost.
Chianti and Prosecco are very happy.
Piemonte presents as in many years very heterogenic, some areas even produced high quantities others were hit by heavy hail.
Sicily claims good quality with reasonable quantities and so does Sardegna.
Abruzzo declares a slightly higher quantity with good quality very similar to the situation in Marche.
