Casal Farneto, has received outstanding recognition from Falstaff, one of Europe’s most prestigious wine guides. Five of their signature wines were awarded high scores, a testament to the dedication, passion, and unique terroir of the Marche region.

CasalFarneto:

Nestled in the rolling hills of Serra de Conti, in the heart of Italy’s Marche region, Casal Farneto is more than just a winery; it’s a philosophy. Their motto, ‘il gusto del tempo’ (the taste of time), guides everything they do.

Founded in 1995, the estate spans 35 hectares of vineyards, situated in the classic Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi area. They embrace a philosophy that beautifully merges tradition with modern innovation, operating as a ‘technological farm’ that deeply respects the rhythms of nature. Sustainability is at their core, with a strong focus on organic practices to ensure every bottle is a true expression of their land.

Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2025: Red and White Wine Session

The 32nd edition of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles for red and white wines was held from June 10 to 12, 2025, in Yinchuan, in the heart of the Ningxia wine region in China. During this event, an international jury of 375 experts blind-tasted over 7,165 wines from 49 countries.

Italy achieved an exceptional result, confirming its position among the major players in the competition with a total of 351 awards, including 15 Grand Gold Medals, 132 Gold Medals, and 204 Silver Medals.

The CasalFarneto winery received a significant recognition in this year’s competition.

The Winery: CASALFARNETO, GETTING TO KNOW VERDICCHIO WINE

In Le Marche region, in between the sea and the Apennines, one of the most beautiful hilly landscapes of Ancona’s province unfolds – it’s the land of prestigious wines such as Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi. Here, with its 35 acres of vineyard, CasalFarneto Wine Estate is located, where technology, tradition and sustainability combine to produce wines of excellence. Under the shade of Farnetto oaks, from which the Estate gets its name, the farmhouse boasts the cultivation of white and red grapes, with particular attention to organic wine.

Technology and Nature: DESIGN IMMERSED IN THE GREEN

Aesthetics and functionality is the perfect blend in eco-architecture. CasaFarneto Wine Estate is the clear example of an eco-sustainable approach towards nature and the surrounding area. In the headland of Le Marche harmonious hills, the winery, mainly built of stone and wood, has been partly erected underground, blending itself with the landscape’s architecture and its colours. In this sense, Architect Nazzareno Petrini worked according to an aesthetic criterion that could enhance both the landscape and the winery with its winemaking technologies. As an example, the winery has been entirely covered by a roof garden planted to vines allowing for a double experience: the pleasant visual continuity with the landscape and a constant underground temperature at 18-20°C where the barrels and tanks are located. Inside, in line with the low environmental impact of the vineyards, technology couples up with natural processing methods to ensure purity in the wines and in the eco-system. CasalFarneto’s effort to reduce impact on the air, vineyard, land and environment makes it gain the definition of a “technological farm” – a place where to envisage the future of winemaking starting from the tradition.

For a decade, CasalFarneto has been managed alongside the Togni Group allowing its wine production to make good use of technical and entrepreneurial know-how, which has been vital to grow a business nurtured by strong effort and great passion for wine. In the early morning of Thursday, March 13th into Friday, March 14th, it will occur a total lunar eclipse.

During this event, the Earth will align directly between the Sun and the Moon, casting Earth’s shadow over the Moon and giving it a reddish hue, often referred to as a “Blood Moon”.

Grapes: 100% Lambrusco Sorbara

Tasting Notes:

Pale powder pink, with a very fine and persistent perlage
White floral scents, hawthorn, red apple skin, wild strawberry, with aromas of raspberry and vanilla
strong acidity and fresh finish, persistent and delicate with a fruity note. Dry, sharp and clean

Very good as an aperitif, paired with oysters or a tartare of raw fish, with a
platter of cold cuts, with tortellini or meat bollito misto.

Metodo Ancestrale Primo

Grapes: Verdicchio

The harvest is slightly anticipated to enhance freshness and acidity.

Wine obtained from a vinification with natural, not induced refermentation in bottle called “ancestral”. Before uncorking, the bottle can be shaken to suspend again all the yeasts, increasing greatly his complexity.

Tasting Notes:

Aroma of good intensity, fresh, citrusy with fruity notes of green apple, cedar and aromatic herbs. On the palate savory, fresh and crisp.

Excellent as an aperitif, it pairs good with appetizers, fish dishes and semi-soft cheeses until tasty ones.

Luca Maroni has awarded the Fontevecchia Verdicchio Classico Superiore 2020 from CasalFarneto with 96 points

Fontevecchia Verdicchio Classico Superiore ’20

Colour: Straw yellow with greenish reflections

Perfume: Wide, fresh and persistent smell reminding of lime, white flowers, almond and summer fruit

Flavour: Wine of great varietal expression. In the mouth, taste confirms the smell sensations developing in balance between freshness and savour. It is fine and persistent with a slightly bitter aftertaste.

CASALFARNETO

You will find CasalFarneto in the region of Le Marche, between the sea and the Apennines. With its 35 acres of vineyard, CasalFarneto Wine Estate is located, where technology, tradition and sustainability combine to produce wines of excellence. Under the shade of Farnetto oaks, from which the Estate gets its name, the farmhouse boasts the cultivation of white and red grapes, with particular attention to organic wine.

Fontevecchia

Fontevecchia is one of the most popular wines produced by CasalFarneto. It is a wine of great expression. A variety of Verdicchio Classico Superiore, elegant and very pleasant, on the palate a wide range of fruity and floral aromas stand out.

Very fresh as an aperitif. It goes very well with warm or cold appetizers, with white first courses, with mushrooms and truffle, white meats.
